Identifying Difficult People

Last week, me attended an Individual Effectiveness Development Program Introductory sponsored by Telaga Minyak Jaafa at Prince Hotel. Another fantabulous training which surrounded by vibrant participants, awesome facilitator and the whole program did capture our attention and I believe the objective was delivered successfully. Woot woot.

One of the module is Identifying Difficult People:

    "I'm always right"
These dragon appear to know it all and get very defensive when they feel someone is
      judging them.
They are critical of others and think they are above everyone else. I'm always right dragons are
unable to work effectively in teams due to their extreme defensiveness.

Approach: Give them your complete attention and remind them they are part of the team.
Get them to refocus their energies on team goals and never surprise them.

                                                                    "You can't make me"
Resistant to changes that threaten their sense of security. "You can't make me" dragons
often resist anyone else's oipnion. Forcing them to move more quickly only increases
their opposition anda can lead tem to causing problems for those trying to get things done

Approach: Give them time, give them options and never surprise them. Ask them for input
on moving forward and try to have patience when dealing with them.

"I don't have time to wait"
These dragons have massive "to do" lists that never get finished. Often cutting comers in
the mistaken belief that there is not enough time o do something correctly. These dragons
can make mistakes and offend people who don't respect their deadlines.

Approach: Ask them to slow down and be patient and help them to feel there is more time.

"I want more and more and more" dragon

"I'm victim here" dragon
